Why do I need to open the dev console?

As part of the troubleshooting process, we may need you to replicate the issue with the dev console open.

The reason why this is important is to be able to tell if there are any errors taking place on the client side (in other words, these errors are happening in your browser, but are not detectable on our servers).

By recording a screencast of the issue with the dev console open, this may give us the information we need to be able to identify and rectify issues that wouldn't otherwise be possible.

How do I open the dev console?

To open the developer console in Chrome click the top right ellipsis -> more tools -> developer tools, like this:

Check the events log to see if there are any errors in red that may be related to the issue you're experiencing.

If you can replicate the issue...

Another thing you can try to get more accurate logs is to clear the console logs and THEN replicate the issue and see what happens.

To clear the console log, click the console tab like this (1) and clear the logs (2).

Now replicate the issue and see if any new information appears in the logs.
