Our new Calendar app has been completely remade from the ground up with new features and improvements to that will allow you to do so much more in Zendesk!

New updates include:

  • External event creates a new ticket - integrations with meeting and appointment schedulers such as Calendly are now supported with our new feature that creates a ticket when an event is created on your external synced calendar. The external events can be created by any means and the ticket will be automatically populated with all event and attendee information.

  • Link external event to ticket - any event that has been created in our calendar from an external account can now be linked to an existing ticket. We will suggest events that match the assignee or requester and you can link with one click!
  • Multiple events per ticket - you are now able to create as many events as you need on the one ticket and even on the same calendar.

  • Improved calendar UI - events from many calendars can now be seen in one view so you can easily see what your team is doing for the week right from the app. All day events are also shown.

  • Separate workflows per calendar - different workflows can now be assigned per calendar so your different departments or teams can have their own unique requirements.

  • More functionality on automatically creating events - the new webhook which automatically creates calendar events on tickets is now easier to use and provides more control and flexibility with being able to set attendees, location and other important information.

  • Ticket templates - creating new tickets for an event is now even easier with our ticket templates that will define all the information for you.

  • Automatically assign calendar tickets - with our new placeholders, setting the requester, assignee and CCs can be automatically set so the conversation starts right away.

  • Audit Log - a new admin area now shows a useful audit log of all creates and updates of calendars on your account.

Migrating to the new app

For a seamless transition, we recommend installing the new app from the Zendesk Marketplace on your Sandbox account first to test the rules.

If you don't have a Zendesk Sandbox, you can install the new app alongside the old one for testing purposes. Please ensure the new app has a different name as the old app when installing to avoid any conflicts.

Contact us for an extended trial on the new app; we do not charge for testing instances.

Ongoing support

While we have no current plans to end support for the legacy Calendar app, we will focus on updating and adding new features exclusively to the new version.
